The Evergreen Update | February 2026
By | Published On: 12 February 2026 |

It’s a new year and a new round of evergreen updates once again.

If your new years resolution was to learn more about what’s new from Microsoft then you’re in for a treat! 2026 has kicked off and we are loving the new features coming from Microsoft this month, with small changes that carry a big impact.

It’s been a busy month for us all and it’s been just as busy at Changing Social HQ getting ready to share all the exciting new features with our customers.

Never accidentally send a premature Teams message again.

Microsoft Teams is adding a new personal setting that lets you choose what happens when you press Enter while typing a message.

A small but mighty update where you can decide whether Enter sends the message or simply starts a new line. The default is still Enter to send so keep an eye out for this feature landing in your settings.  This update helps avoid accidental sends and makes Teams behave more like other messaging apps.

No more half written messages that make no sense, just update your chat setting and hit enter to start a new line, not send the message.

AI or not AI?

Microsoft is introducing an important new policy designed to bring greater transparency to how AI‑generated content is created and shared across Microsoft 365.

From the second half of February 2026, organisations will have the option to automatically apply a visual or audio watermark to any video or audio content that has been generated or altered using AI tools such as Copilot or Clipchamp. This update is part of Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to responsible AI use and supports clearer digital literacy across the workplace.

For example, a Clipchamp generated video or an AI created audio summary from Copilot can be marked to show AI involvement.

Once enabled, this policy visibly flags AI involvement, whether that’s a Clipchamp‑created video or an AI‑generated audio summary in Copilot. These watermarks cannot be customised, ensuring a consistent and trustworthy standard across all Microsoft 365 tenants. Even if your organisation chooses not to enable the watermark, Microsoft will still embed metadata to indicate AI involvement, providing transparency behind the scenes.

On brand at all times

one that will make creating beautifully branded, on‑message presentations easier than ever. Starting from early 2026, Copilot in PowerPoint will support enterprise image libraries hosted in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). This means your organisation’s approved brand images can flow directly into Copilot‑generated slides, ensuring every presentation looks polished, consistent, and unmistakably “you.”

With this integration, users will no longer be limited to Microsoft’s stock image library. Instead, they’ll be able to select from your centrally managed brand assets using the new Image Source options available when generating slides with Copilot.

This update is a brilliant step forward in making high‑quality, on‑brand content accessible to everyone. With Copilot and AEM working hand in hand, your teams can create compelling presentations with ease, clarity, and complete brand confidence.

Instant wins

Teams meeting Notes, powered by Loop, are now coming to instant meetings such as Meet now or calls started from chat.

This means users can collaboratively build agendas, capture notes and assign tasks directly in these meetings, and everything will stay in sync with the Loop app. After the meeting, notes appear in the Recap tab.

With Loop‑powered Meeting Notes, users can build agendas together, capture shared notes, and assign tasks – all within the meeting itself. Because these notes are Loop components, every update stays perfectly in sync across Teams and the Loop app, ensuring nothing gets lost and everyone stays aligned. Tasks created during the meeting automatically sync with Planner and To Do, helping teams maintain momentum once the conversation ends.

The experience is designed to be seamless. Users can open the Notes pane during an instant meeting, co‑create content in real time, and continue editing afterwards in the Loop app. When the meeting ends, everything is neatly stored in the Recap tab under Notes, making it easy to revisit outcomes or share updates with colleagues who couldn’t attend.

Final thoughts

January has been a month of quick wins across Microsoft 365, the kind that genuinely make your day flow a little smoother.

From subtle interface refinements to smarter shortcuts and more intuitive workflows, these updates focus on reducing friction: fewer clicks, faster access, and thoughtful tweaks that help you stay focused on what matters. It’s the sort of progress that doesn’t just add features, but actually gives you time back.

These small but mighty improvements are what make M365 feel increasingly seamless. Whether it’s a cleaner navigation experience, streamlined collaboration features, or behind‑the‑scenes enhancements that keep everything running effortlessly, each update is designed with one goal in mind: helping you work smarter, not harder. And when all these time savers stack up, the impact on productivity becomes impossible to ignore.
