1. Risk Assessment QuickStart Guide for Microsoft 365 Copilot
Don’t know where to start when assessing AI risks?
Microsoft has now got you and your organisation covered!
The all-new Risk Assessment QuickStart Guide is designed to help your organisation navigate the risks associated with using Microsoft 365 Copilot.
The guide walks you through:
- AI Risks and Mitigations Framework: A breakdown of key AI risks and how Microsoft mitigates them, from company-wide policies to service-level measures.
- Sample Risk Assessment: Real-life questions from customers and practical answers to gauge your organisation’s risk posture.
Plus, it links you to a treasure trove of additional resources for deeper dives into risk management and AI safety helping the ease of Copilot and AI adoption in your organisation.
2. New Language Support – Speak Your Language
If language barriers have been a challenge, Copilot is now stepping up with 12 new languages!
Users will soon enjoy support for:
- Bulgarian, Croatian, Estonian, Greek, Indonesian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Romanian, Serbian (Latin), Slovak, Slovenian, and Vietnamese.
And that’s not all. Microsoft is also adding Welsh and Catalan and improving existing regional language variants like Dutch (Belgium), German (Switzerland), and Spanish (Mexico). Expect more natural, locally relevant responses!
These updates are rolling out throughout September.
3. Viva Glint & Pulse Sentiment Surveys Now in Copilot Dashboard
Need to track employee sentiment on Copilot adoption? Now you can!
Starting this September, results from Viva Glint and Viva Pulse sentiment surveys will be right at your fingertips within the Copilot Dashboard. You’ll have all the tools you need to:
- Launch new surveys.
- View results from multiple surveys in one place.
- Track sentiment and adoption trends with ease.
Note: You’ll need a Microsoft Viva Suite license, Workplace Analytics, or a Viva Glint license to access this feature.
4. Boosting the Public Sector – Copilot Goes Live
Public sector organisations, your productivity is about to get a major boost!
Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 GCC is officially launching in October 2024, pending U.S. Government approval.
This AI-powered assistant will help public sector teams work smarter by integrating with Microsoft 365 apps for everyday tasks.
Expect further releases in GCC High and DOD by Summer 2025.
5. Graph-Grounded Chat Enhancements
Big changes are coming to Graph-grounded chat in both Outlook and Teams:
- In Outlook, Copilot will now reference archived mailboxes, helping you retrieve content from all emails, even those tucked away in subfolders.
- In Teams, enjoy smoother chat prompts with better access to group chat information and an expanded ability to handle large files. Plus, you can now paste up to 16,000 characters – that’s 8x more than before!
You can now simply say, “Find the files in my OneDrive,” or “Check the Marketing site files” to pinpoint what you need, faster.
6. Easier Pasting in Word
Working in Word just got a whole lot easier; I know you may be thinking, could it be easier?
Copilot now offers expanded paste options – so when you paste content, Copilot can help you reword it, structure it into tables or lists, and more.
The feature is live on the web and rolling out to desktop and Mac soon, so keep your eyes peeled for this one!
7. Copilot for Forms: Quiz Help for Teachers
Teachers, you’re in for a treat! Well, anyone who uses forms or who does quizzes, so probably everyone…
With Copilot in Forms, you can now generate step-by-step solutions for quiz questions. Once students submit their quizzes, they can immediately view their results and learn from their mistakes with detailed, guided solutions from Copilot this September.
School Quizzes have just got a whole lot better.

8. Time-Based Summaries in Teams
Searching through endless chat histories? No more!
With Copilot in Teams, you can now use time-specific prompts like “yesterday,” “last month,” or even specific dates like “December 2023” to find the information you need in seconds.
This game-changing feature began rolling out in August. Have you already used it?
9. New Prompt Collections for Sales, Finance, and Energy
Calling all professionals in Sales, Finance, and the Energy sectors! Copilot Lab is expanding its functional prompt collections tailored just for you. From generating sales account plans with SWOT analysis to crafting in-depth risk reports or analysing development concepts in the Permian Basin, these prompts are here to inspire.
The latest additions will elevate your prompt game and are available across a range of Microsoft 365 apps, including Planner, Forms, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
