7 Microsoft Loop Features that you'll wish you knew about sooner

Microsoft Loop is a productivity tool that just keeps on getting better. It quietly introduces new features that help teams work with the flow, not against it.

At Changing Social, we use Loop across all business areas – from delivery and content creation to sales and internal planning. And these latest changes? To be honest, they’re a game changer.

 

Board View: Visualise your work your way

Loop’s new ‘Board View’ gives you a Kanban-style board to drag, drop and move your ideas through stages. It’s ideal for agile planning or simply making a messy brainstorm, feel a little less messy.

You could use this in many ways, but within Changing social it would be good for our Delivery Team to manage client onboarding journeys. Each column represents each project stage (discovery, build and delivery) and Loop makes it super easy to move projects through phases collaboratively.

 

Detail view in Tables: Expand it without the clutter

With a detailed view, each row in a Loop table becomes a full-page canvas. You can go from a high-level plan to deep detail. Without losing focus or overwhelming the page.

For example, I track all social media posts in a Loop table, but instead of switching to separate documents, we use Detail View to expand a row and start writing right there. One row = one draft = no fuss.

 

Custom templates: Consistency without copy and paste

Create and save ‘custom templates’ in Loop to standardise your workflows. Perfect for project kick-offs, sales proposals, or campaign briefs.

Our team could definitely use more of these, but I know I use templates when planning our socials. They come complete with publishing checklists, tone guidance, and CTA prompts. It’s a total time saver.

 

Figma integration: Design now meets delivery

Yes, really, Loop now integrates with Figma! You can embed live files, comment in context, and collaborate without flipping tabs. Simply write your URL from Figma in and you can see it!

 

Meeting notes tab: All your meetings, in one place!

Loop Meeting notes tab brings agendas, notes, and action items together. Everything is now neatly organised, and no more “Where are the minutes?” post-meeting chaos. Simply go to the left-hand panel and you will find meeting notes, and check through your calendar to find the right notes, it’s a lifesaver!

 

Collapsible headings: scroll less and focus more…

Loop now lets you collapse headings, which makes long pages feel way less intimidating. Ideal for content–heavy teams or onboarding documents.

 

Loop in OneNote: Next level note taking

Loop components now work in OneNote! Drop tables or checklists and keep them synced across all your Microsoft 365 applications.
